Polished Apple for HKP Architects

HKP Architects of Mount Vernon won The Polished Apple from the Washington Chapter of the Council of Educational Facilities Planners, International, for the North Cascades Environmental Learning Center at Diablo Lake.

The center also won the People’s Choice Award at the group’s conference.

It is owned by Seattle City Light, National Park Service and the North Cascades Institute. The design team included: SvR Design as civil engineer, Richard Haag & Associates as landscape architect, Marten/Chan as structural engineer, Berona Engineers as mechanical engineer and Path Engineers/Travis Fitzmaurice & Associates/Radiance Lighting Design as electrical engineer.  

The jury gave out three Merit Awards: Lincoln High School by DLR Group, Marysville-Getchell High School by DLR and Forest View Elementary School by Dykeman.
