Otak named two new principals and two senior associates. Planner Dave Siegel was promoted to principal, along with Chief Financial Officer Paul Strassmaier. The new senior associates are landscape architect Kate Schwarzler and controller Dominica LoPrete. Siegel has spent more than 30 years as a professional planner and planning advocate. Siegel was APA president in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and led the association's outreach to communities affected by the disaster. Siegel has led planning initiatives including the Regional Growth Summits for the Las Vegas region, Blueprint Houston and the Oregon Visions Project. Strassmaier has more than 15 years of experience managing Northwest architecture firms. He oversees all financial and legal activities at Otak and works with senior managers on project-related issues in risk management and profitability. Schwarzler has more than a decade of landscape architecture and planning experience in the public and private sectors. In addition to working on BLM projects, Schwarzler has assisted with work in the UAE. LoPrete has been with Otak since 1997, managing finances for the company as it has grown to nearly 500 employees in 14 offices.
