Kirkland planning board has opening

The city of Kirkland is accepting applications for an opening on its Planning Commission until 4 p.m. Friday.

The vacancy is for the remainder of an unexpired term ending March 31, 2011. Applicants must be city residents and at least 18 years of age. The seven-member board advises the City Council on land-use regulations. Regular meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month.
