Architecture and design firm Callison said it has promoted 15 people to principal, two to director and one to associate principal to strengthen core markets and geographic regions. The promotions are intended to broaden design, business development and project management capabilities, and also mirror Callison's growth plans in markets and offices, particularly in commercial interiors, New York and China. Many of the new principals will continue to support the firm's recent joint venture with HAYA Architects, an architecture and design firm in Beijing. Those promoted in the Seattle office to principal and their market specialties are: Darryl Custer, Peter Krech and Michael Lee, China commercial; John Jex and Leonard Ruff, North America commercial; and Carolyn Jones, Mike Riggs, Paul Scanlon, Dave Scurlock and Alex Shapleigh, global retail. Xiaoli Liu was promoted to director, China commercial in the Seattle office, and Ali Khatibi was promoted to associate principal, global retail in Seattle. Kathryn Mickel was promoted to principal, North America commercial, in the Scottsdale office. In New York, Steven Derwoed, David Kepron and Kenneth Lill were promoted to principal, global retail. Xiaolei Ouyang was promoted to principal, China commercial, in the Shanghai office and John Von Mohr was promoted to director, global retail, in Dallas. Callison specializes in retail, corporate, mixed-use, mission critical, financial, residential, urban planning, health care and hospitality. It also has offices in Dubai, London and Mexico City.
