David Evans and Associates has expanded its transit, railroad and bridge groups by hiring three people to leadership positions. Jim Ellerbroek is joining the Denver office as a vice president and firm-wide railroad services manager. Zafar Alikhan is going to Los Angeles as vice president and firm-wide transit planning and environmental services manager. Jiri Vitek is joining the Portland office as a vice president leading the bridge practice firm-wide. Ellerbroek has 18 years of experience in civil engineering, most recently for TranSystems Corp. in Kansas City, Mo. He has been a railroad industry consultant and worked on rail projects. Alikhan has 18 years of experience in domestic and international transit projects, most recently at Jacobs Engineering Group. Vitek has 35 years of experience in the bridge industry, including business development at Parsons Transportation Group. The staff includes engineers, surveyors, hydrographers, planners, landscape architects and natural resources scientists.
