El Centro de la Raza said Boeing gave it a $500,000 grant for a mixed-use complex it is building adjacent to its headquarters at 2524 16th Ave. S.
The grant is from Boeing's Employees Community Fund.
El Centro will celebrate the grant and the birthday of its founder and executive director, the late Roberto Maestas, July 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the headquarters. The social services agency will also launch a push to complete the $3.5 million capital campaign for the complex, which is named for Maestas.
Seattle Mayor Ed Murray will speak at the event, which includes lunch, entertainment and hardhat construction tours.
El Centro's $45 million project will have 112 low-income apartments, office, retail and restaurant space, and a community center. It slated for completion in June 2016.
