An exhibit of 23 proposals by architects, urban planners and others about the future of Vancouver, B.C., runs through May 15 at the Museum of Vancouver on Chestnut Street.

The exhibit is called “Your Future Home: Creating the New Vancouver,” and is presented in partnership with Vancouver Urbanarium Society. The scenarios include 3D models, multimedia and case studies.

Proposals focus on hot topics such as housing affordability, residential density, transportation and public space.

For example, a 2,500-foot “Vertical City” shown by Henriquez Partners Architects offers a dramatic shift in scale and takes locals' love for views to the extreme.

“Harbour Deck” by HCMA Architecture + Design would create a series of public spaces to reconnect people with water.

The museum will also hold debates and public programs intended to spark conversations about the future of Vancouver.

Go to http://tiny.cc/enxd8x and click on “events” to see the list, which includes a debate titled “Resolution: Build Fewer Towers.”

Support for the exhibit has come from individuals and firms including Marcon Investments, Wesgroup Properties, Henriquez Partners Architects, Brook Pooni Associates and PFS Studio.
