Hammer & Hand carpenters' guide

Local construction company Hammer & Hand released online the second edition of its Best Practices Manual for carpenters.

The free manual at http://tiny.cc/12laay gives an overview of techniques and 213 step-by-step illustrations.

This edition has new information on topics such as vented and unvented roof assemblies, parapet walls, flat roof assemblies, air sealing, insulation, wall assemblies and framing pocket doors and stairs.

Hammer & Hand said the manual is drawn from its experience constructing high performance buildings in the Northwest.
