Mark Hinshaw, a principal with landscape architecture firm Walker Macy, will lead a walk through the Denny Triangle and South Lake Union to discuss how changes there impact the city overall.
The walk is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 24, starting on the steps at McGraw Square at Westlake Avenue North and Stewart Street, and ending with a happy hour at a SLU rooftop bar.
AIA Seattle is sponsoring the free event, which is being organized by its Urban Design Forum.
Besides his work for Walker Macy, Hinshaw is an urban designer for Seattle Housing Authority and a writer for Crosscut. He was principal urban designer for the city of Bellevue and director of urban design for LMN Architects.
Hinshaw is a fellow of the American Institute of Architects and the American Institute of Certified Planners.
