Seattle-based structural engineering firm Lund Opsahl hired Tony Mason as a design engineer, Jim Blake as senior CAD/BIM technician, Lauren Huffman as office administrator, and Stephen Lau, Blake Bergh and Devin Drake as engineers. Mason has five years of experience in structural design and 10 years in construction. He has worked on commercial and institutional projects in hurricane-prone regions of the Gulf Coast and is doing design of underground structures for the Washington State Convention Center expansion. Huffman has a background in design and administrative work, and will do marketing materials and social media. Blake has over 14 years of experience, including architectural and structural REVIT modeling. He is building the structural model for a Vulcan project in South Lake Union. Lau holds bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Washington, and worked at Exeltech. His projects include structural design of a utility tunnel and seismic anchorages for steam piping at Sea-Tac Airport. Bergh holds a civil engineering degree from California State University, Chico, and has hands-on experience in residential construction, including micro housing. Drake holds a bachelor's in civil engineering from Gonzaga University. He has worked in structural steel erection and geotechnical inspection services.
