AIA Seattle's Young Architects Forum is holding a tour from noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 17 of Seattle's Maritime Building, which Boston-based Beacon Capital Partners is renovating and expanding.

Participants will meet in the lobby of the jobsite office building at 815 Western Ave.

NBBJ is the architect and Turner Construction is the general contractor for the project, which includes a three-story addition to the five-story building.

Beacon calls the 1910 Maritime Building on Western Avenue one of the last heavy timber post-and-beam buildings along Seattle's waterfront.

Mobile gaming developer Big Fish is taking all 187,000 square feet of office space in the building.

The tour costs $5. Register at http://tiny.cc/dvokpy/.
