In Seattle, landscape architecture firm Gustafson Guthrie Nichol hired Jean Ni, Ana Cristina Garcia and Jing Zeng as designers, Bessy Barahona as a design intern and Malaika O'Rourke as an accountant. Daisy Hoyt joined GGN's Washington, D.C. workspace as a designer. Ni holds a master of landscape architecture from the University of Washington and a bachelor's in sociology from the University of California at San Diego. She did work through the Urban@UW Homelessness Research Initiative and is co-founder of the student-led Design Justice Seattle. Garcia has a master of landscape architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design and a bachelor of arts dual-degree in architectural studies and Latin American studies from Hobart and William Smith Colleges. Zeng holds a master of landscape architecture from Rhode Island School of Design and a bachelor's in environmental design from Sichuan University. She worked as an urban designer in Shanghai. Barahona holds a bachelor's in landscape architecture from Cal Poly Pomona. O'Rourke has experience in public accounting, focusing on individual and corporate clients, as well as in the tax department of a retail company. She attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the University of Southern California. Hoyt has a master of landscape architecture from Cornell University and a bachelor's in studio arts from Clark University.
