ASLA releases universal design guide

James Corner Field Operations designed Tongva Park + Ken Gensler Square in Santa Monica, California, using universal design principles. It has frequent seating with armrests, wide paths and ramps, consistent lighting, diverse plant life and an accessible bathroom near the street.

The American Society of Landscape Architects has published a Guide to Universal Design aimed at making public spaces accessible to all people, regardless of age or ability.
