Green Lake boat house gets $500K

SEATTLE — The Washington State Recreation and Conservation Funding Board awarded around $9.1 million in grants for 21 projects that conserve working farms and forests and improve recreation in the state.

That includes $500,000 each for an addition to a boat house on Green Lake in Seattle, development of an eight-acre Civic Park in downtown Edmonds, and renovation of the 18-acre Lincoln Park in one of Wenatchee's underserved areas. Go to https://tinyurl.com/yya5teqg for all the awarded projects.

A total of $5.2 million went to 12 farms and forests projects, and $3.9 million in federal grants went to nine projects that develop and improve recreational opportunities for boaters and recreationists. The projects are in 11 counties.

Funding comes from these grant programs managed by the board: the Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program, the Boating Infrastructure Grant program and the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
