District landmarks Rainier Beach High School in preparation for new building

John W. Maloney was the original architect on the school whose design reflects many of the ideas of mid-century modernist architecture. Bassetti Architects is designing the new multi-story school.

Seattle Public Schools plans to begin construction in summer 2022 on a replacement for Rainier Beach High School at 8815 Seward Park Ave. S.
