Johnston Architects using gaming technology to enhance design process

A detached accessory dwelling unit can be “designed” by a homeowner using the Parametric Casita, developed by Johnston Architects. The owner can add or subtract room modules to create the design. The casita pictured here is a studio with a kitchen, bathroom and sauna.

Jack Chaffin, a self-described “old geek,” is leading Johnston Architects in developing and using technologies and tools to help design public projects, commercial real estate and backyard cottages in the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
