Ida Culver House up for redevelopment

SEATTLE — Local for-profit company Era Living owns and operates Ida Culver House Ravenna, at 2315 N.E. 65th St. The low-rise complex dates to 1949, apparently with a later addition, and now has 91 units.

Now Weber Thompson has filed an early plan to redevelop the nearly 1.8-acre midblock property. The five-story replacement building would be a new assisted living community. It will apparently keep the old name, for the same owner.

The number of units isn't yet specified, and the project hasn't yet entered design review. The project is listed with a nominal value of $68 million, and would include one level of underground parking with 130 stalls.

Era is owned and run by the Almo family, with roots going back to the 1970s. It began developing its own buildings, after serving as an operator, in 1987. It now has about seven communities in our region, including Ravenna.
