Paramount Hotel eyes 10-story addition

Looking west down Pine, possibly to be replaced, the hotel’s existing porte chochere is behind the FedEx truck.

The Paramount Hotel, at 724 Pine St., isn't that old. It was developed in 1996 by mostly local owners on the corner of Eighth Avenue. The 11-story, 143-room building is pushed to that corner, separated from the newer, neighboring Olive 8 condos and hotel by a two-story porte cochere, which leads to a small surface parking lot and the two-level garage below.
