A torii is a traditional Japanese gate most commonly found at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine.

Seward Park, at 5902 Lake Washington Blvd. S., has a new torii Gate. The gate replaces a 26-foot timber torii given to the city by Seattle's Japanese American community in 1934, which was removed in the 1980s due to decaying beams. The new torii is designed by landscape architectural firm Murase Associates and is built with native basalt and western red cedar.
