Holmes is growing its Seattle team with three new members; Elisa Chen, Evan Speer, and Dan Bech. Chen, senior structural engineer, joins Holmes with a decade of experience in the industry. She brings a wealth of knowledge in new and existing cultural work alongside high-rise design and creative renovations/retrofits.
Speer, structural project engineer, has a fresh take on seismic design informed by his time living in Nepal. With a passion for historic preservation, adaptive reuse, and retrofits, he will bolster Holmes' existing building portfolio. Bech, principal and technical director, is relocating to Seattle following 17+ years with Holmes in San Francisco and New Zealand. With more than 20 years in the industry, his areas of expertise include existing buildings, non-linear analysis, performance-based engineering, and code writing. Bech leads design strategy on some of Holmes' most complex projects.
