The site is a block north of Easy Street Records, the heart of Alaska Junction.

Two old commercial buildings at 4448 California Ave. S.W. are bound for demolition and redevelopment. STS Construction and Atelier Drome Architecture have been planning new apartments there for about a year. The longtime family owners haven't sold the midblock property, so a partnership is possible. Or they may sell once the master use permit is obtained.
