State seeks public input on possible new regional airport

The state is looking at building a new airport, or expanding Bremerton National Airport, pictured, or Paine Field.

The state Department of Transportation says demand for aviation is growing and will soon exceed the capacity of some of the area's biggest airports, including Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. To address this looming issue, the state wants to establish a new airport somewhere in western Washington or expand an existing facility. Public input is being sought in either case, with an upcoming online open house and two virtual public meetings.
