Ground broken on new Seattle Storm facility in Interbay

The facility is being built on the site of a former parking lot. The project site is pictured this week.

Yesterday, on a sunny spring afternoon, storied athletes, members of the public and city government, and a majority female project team came together to mark the groundbreaking of a new training and practice facility for WNBA team Seattle Storm at 1616 W. Bertona St. Those in attendance were also witnessing history in the making as the facility is the first sports practice venue to be designed and built specifically for a professional womens team in the U.S.
