WJE Seattle announced that Andrew Stanton recently earned his professional engineering license in the State of California. And that Anita Simon, AIA, and Jonathan Kovach, PE, presented at SeaBEC's June meeting, “Peering Into Enclosure Details”.

Stanton holds a Bachelor and Master of Science in Architectural Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University. He specializes in the investigation, analysis, and repair of buildings, addressing both structural and building enclosure performance. His projects encompass a variety of roofing, waterproofing, and enclosure systems, with an emphasis on addressing moisture egress in the Pacific Northwest climate. His practice includes litigation support, insurance claims and investigations, and rehabilitation design, and his digital skills include computer analysis with SAP and RISA, and graphics development through SketchUp, Bluebeam, and CAD. Stanton is a member of the Seattle Building Enclosure Council and the Structural Engineers Association of Washington.

Simon has been the project architect for numerous contemporary and historic structures. Through investigation, repair design, and field observation during construction, she is experienced in the design, installation, and performance characteristics of a variety of enclosure assemblies and materials. Her work involves peer review of building enclosure systems, condition assessments, and evaluation of assembly or material failures followed by the development of repair recommendations. She is a registered architect and has presented on the topics of historic masonry investigation, repairs, and insulation retrofits; fiber cement siding materials failures; enclosure maintenance; and design for high-performance building enclosures. Simon is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Association for Preservation Technology Northwest Chapter, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, and the Seattle Building Enclosure Council.

Kovach is a professional engineer and building enclosure consultant experienced in building enclosure condition assessments, design peer reviews, building enclosure commissioning, field testing, investigations of new and existing structures, repair design, and construction phase services for various building types. Since joining WJE in 2003, he has provided professional services for numerous projects involving a variety of building enclosure systems including brick masonry, stone, terra cotta, wood, windows, curtain wall, storefronts, skylights, metal wall panels, roofing, and waterproofing. Kovach is a member of the Seattle Building Enclosure Council and the Association for Preservation Technology Northwest Chapter, and is a voting member on the Existing Masonry Committee and part of the Masonry Stabilization Subcommittee of The Masonry Society.
