Local trust gives $1M for construction of Ocean Pavilion

Ocean Pavilion topped out in March and is set to open next year.

M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust, based in Vancouver, has awarded the Seattle Aquarium Society $1 million to support construction of Ocean Pavilion, the 50,000-square-foot aquarium expansion project taking shape across from the existing aquarium on Pier 59. The Seattle Times was first to report the news.
