RFQ expected next month for $34M Tacoma elementary

The Tacoma School District will soon release a request for qualifications notice seeking progressive design-build services for the replacement of Lowell Elementary School at 810 Mr. Dahl Drive. The original school was built in 1949 and is slated to be replaced with a new facility for the school's some 370 students.

The RFQ is expected to be released in early to mid-October. An advance notice ran in the DJC earlier this month. According to the school district's website, the replacement school is slated to open in 2026.
