Renton Schools opens region's first mass timber elementary

The school opened to students at the end of August.

Last week marked the grand opening of the new Hilltop Heritage Elementary School at 1075 Duvall Ave. N.E. on an 11.17-acre site in Renton's Highlands/Sunset area. The project broke ground in June 2022. The site was previously residential properties and wetlands.
