The current resort is 12 stories and has 370 rooms.

The Tulalip Tribes are celebrating 20-years of the Tulalip Resort Casino and looking ahead to a major renovation of the property. Last week, the tribes announced preliminary plans for the renovation project which comprises a major refresh of the existing 192,000-square-foot, 370-room resort, and a new 70,250-square-foot expansion.

Further details about what that expansion might look like, or what it might house, were not shared but according to a press release, “the substantial expansion and renovation will include several new interior and exterior features and upgrades.”

Work is slated to begin this year and the release states that completion is anticipated for the end of 2025. The architect and/or general contractor for the project has not been shared.

The Tulalip Tribes did not respond to a DJC request for more information before Monday's deadline.

The current Tulalip Resort Casino debuted at 10200 Quil Ceda Blvd. in 2003. It features a 12-story, 370-room luxury hotel, an expansive gaming floor with a DraftKings sportsbook, meeting and event space, a variety of dining venues and a full-service spa. The resort was designed by architect Ruhl-Parr & Associates and built by Mortenson.

The property was last renovated in 2015 at a cost of $15 million. The team behind that project included Alliance Partition Systems, general contractor, and Ruhl-Parr/Moran Architects, architecture. The renovation earned the hotel a four-diamond rating from AAA.

In the press release announcing the latest planned upgrades, Marci Fryberg, President/COO of Tulalip Gaming Organization said: “The expansion and renovation of Tulalip Resort Casino will set a new standard for quality and excellence among casino resort properties throughout the Pacific Northwest” … “This project exemplifies our continued devotion to provide guests with all the comforts, amenities and services one expects in a premier destination resort.”

Tulalip Resort Casino is located on an 83-acre site in Quil Ceda Village on the Tulalip Indian Reservation, 40 minutes north of Seattle off Interstate 5.
