Unlocking Seattle's housing potential via commercial conversions

The Seattle City Council in July passed new legislation making it easier (and ideally more affordable) for property owners to convert existing commercial buildings into residential ones. The legislation was spearheaded by Mayor Bruce Harrell and aims to address both Seattle's surplus of unused office space and to encourage developers to provide more housing options in the heart of the city.
