Patricia Culley and David Miller have each been promoted to principal at Bohlin Cywinski Jackson.
Before their promotions, they were both associate principals.
Miller is based in the firm's Seattle office and has been with Bohlin Cywinski Jackson for over 20 years. He has worked on several complex projects, succeeded in business development, secured new work, and nurtured firm culture.
After joining BCJ's San Francisco office in 2002, he migrated north to Seattle in 2003 and quickly became an integral part of the team working on the Grand Teton Discovery + Visitor Center. BCJ's longstanding relationship with Canadian timber fabricator Spearhead Timberworks began through working with Miller on the Teton Visitor Center and has since led to more than a dozen project collaborations.
Other of Miller's projects include the Whistler Residence, the Ae'o Tower on Hawaii, Tasman East in Santa Clara and a host of custom single-family residences, cultural and civic buildings, and mixed-use high rises. Current projects include new mixed-use and single-family residential buildings in Hawaii for JL Capital.
Culley is based in BCJ's Pittsburgh office. In the nearly two decades since she joined the firm, Culley has championed a holistic design ethos that balances integrity, sustainability, and beauty. She was honored with an AIA Young Architects Award in 2021.
Her project portfolio includes early design work on the California Institute of Technology's Schlinger Laboratory and Marquez Hall at the Colorado School of Mines, Carnegie Mellon University's ANSYS Hall, the Frick Environmental Center in Pittsburgh and projects with the University of Virginia and the ClearWater Conservancy.
Current projects include the net-zero ready, 180,000-square-foot Quaker Valley High School in Leetsdale, PA.
