ST starts testing on 2 Line I-90 floating bridge segment

Once Sound Transit’s trains start crossing the final 2 Line segment, they will be the first light rail vehicles in the US to cross a floating bridge.

The long-awaited final segment of Sound Transit's 2 Line (aka East Link), which will eventually connect riders from Seattle to Redmond, took a step closer to opening last week as the transit agency pulled a light rail train across the line's Interstate 90 floating bridge stretch between the forthcoming Mercer Island and Judkins Park stations.
