Kingfisher Village will have 60 tiny homes.

Construction is well underway at Kingfisher Village. The Low Income Housing Institute tiny house village is located at 1824 S. 84th St. in Tacoma. It will feature 60 tiny houses and will serve approximately 70-75 individuals at a time.

LIHI staff and volunteers are currently preparing Kingfisher Village for its opening, which is scheduled for this summer.

LIHI is partnering with Pierce County and the State Encampment Resolution Program at the Department of Commerce to operate the village as a 24/7 enhanced shelter on LIHI owned land.

The long-term vision is to develop the Kingfisher Village site into affordable housing, with up to 80 apartments. LIHI has redeveloped several of its former tiny house village locations into affordable multifamily communities.
