    Seattle allows fourplexes, like this one at the Seattle Pacific University campus, to be built on most residential lots citywide.

    In 2023, Washington state officially did away with single-family zoning with the passage of a new zoning law (House Bill 1110) that allows duplexes, triplexes and fourplexes to be built on former single-family zoned lots in most cities and neighborhoods.
