City secures $2M for library upgrade

SEATTLE — The city of Seattle has secured a $2 million grant from the state Department of Commerce to support the renovation of Seattle Public Library's (SPL) University Branch.

As the DJC has previously reported, the branch, at 5009 Roosevelt Way N.E., is getting a seismic upgrade, a host of interior and exterior renovations, accessibility improvements, and two new additions, both to be added to the rear of the building adjacent to the library's parking lot.
