Gas Works tower plan rejected

The preserved gasification towers built in the 1930s and 1940s are a signature element of Gas Works Park’s presence at the edge of Lake Union.

SEATTLE — The Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board on Wednesday denied an application from Seattle Parks and Recreation to allow for removal of some ladders and pipes from the former gasification towers at Gas Works Park.
