34 U District units proposed

SEATTLE — Two old houses at 4709 Ninth Ave. N.E. appear bound for demolition. The owner of one, perhaps intending to buy out the neighbor, is proposing a new five-story, 34-unit apartment building.

Combining both lots would yield an 8,350-square-foot midblock site, near the Trader Joe's and VW/Audi dealerships on Roosevelt.
