The Club at Uplands consists of two connected buildings and outdoor amenities including a pool and hot tub.

Developer Tarragon has opened a new indoor/outdoor clubhouse amenity at its Uplands master-planned community in South Hill.

Uplands is located south of Puyallup off 184th Street. The community is sited on 320 acres and is expected to eventually have 1,000 single-family homes — including some rental properties — plus amenity buildings.

The Club at Uplands spans approximately 6,000 square feet across two buildings connected by a covered walkway. Those house a fitness center with locker rooms and showers, interactive play space for kids of all ages, a media room, a self-serve coffee bar, versatile gathering spaces, a game room and a central fireplace.

The interior design mixes contemporary styling and natural materials.

Outdoor amenities include a heated pool, hot tub, BBQs, reflection pond, bocce ball court, and firepits.

Kirkland firm Milbrandt Architects designed the clubhouse. The building's architecture centers views to Mount Rainier with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the mountain. The interior design includes lots of natural materials and modern fixtures and finishes. Unscripted, which is headquartered in Colorado, was the interior designer. Tarragon was the builder.

The project team also includes AHBL, civil/structural engineer and Robison Engineering, MEP.

“We've been building toward this moment since we broke ground on Uplands,” Dennis Rattie, president of Tarragon, shared in a press release.

Phase I of residential construction at Uplands comprised 155 homes and broke ground in the summer of 2024. The homes were built by Century Communities, Conner Homes, Lennar and Richmond American Homes. Approximately 40 homes remain in Phase 1 across all four builders.

Phase II residential construction will be announced this spring and is set to include 137 homes priced from the mid $600,000s to $900,000s.
