People's Wall is a city landmark

The wall is connected to the history of the Seattle Chapter of the Black Panther Party, and is painted with a mural depicting artistic portraits of prominent Black American civil-rights icons.

SEATTLE — The Seattle Department of Neighborhoods' Landmarks Preservation Board (LPB) has unanimously voted to approve the designation of The People's Wall at 1919 E. Spruce St. in the Central District as a Seattle Landmark.
