A new mural celebrating Seattle's Vietnamese community was recently completed in Little Saigon. The piece is at Asian Plaza (1032 S. Jackson St.), a longtime home to Vietnamese-run businesses.
Seattle artist Stacy Nguyen designed the mural. Volunteers ranging in age from six to their 70s helped paint the artwork. The mural depicts Vietnamese symbols of hope and aspiration including an image of a bird that dates to ancient Vietnamese culture. The new public artwork is the result of a partnership between nonprofits AARP Washington and Friends of Little Saigon.
