Charter Communications

Carl Vogel has been named president and CEO of cable TV provider Charter Communications filling the post of recently resigned Jerry Kent. Vogel will also serve on the board of directors. Previously, he was a vice president of Liberty Media and CEO of Liberty Satellite and Technology. Charter, based in St. Louis, is publicly traded but controlled by Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen. It is the nation's fourth-largest cable operator, with about 7 million customers in 40 states.
