Safe Harbors has received more than $175,000 worth of technology, including technical information, software, hardware and training, from in a grant from Gifts In Kind International. The award is part of the TechLearn program, which will bring $6 million worth of technology to thousands of nonprofits in North America. Safe Harbors will distribute the technology to more than 45 charitable agencies in the Seattle-area that work with homeless people. Safe Harbors is a joint effort of the city of Seattle, King County and United Way of King County. The project is designed to enhance the care of homeless people by using information technology.
