Seattle Arts Commission

Mayor Paul Schell appointed Kristine Castleman to be acting executive director of the Seattle Arts Commission. Castleman will assume the position Dec. 8, following the departure of current executive director Susan B. Trapnell. Trapnell was recently named managing director at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis. Castleman has served as the chief financial officer and deputy director of the Seattle Arts Commission since January 1999, following three years of policy and fiscal analysis of arts, libraries and parks issues for the Seattle budget office. A permanent executive director will be selected by Mayor-elect Greg Nickels.
