Western Washington University

George "Pinky" Nelson has joined the faculty of Western Washington University as the new director of science, math and technology. Nelson is a former astronaut with more than 400 hours of space time logged on three shuttle missions from 1984-1988. Most recently he served as the director of Project 2061, a national initiative to reform K-12 science, mathematics and technology education at the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Washington, D.C.
