Safeco

Richard Levy was named vice president and corporate controller at Safeco. Levy was previously with Washington Mutual, serving most recently as chief financial officer for its specialty finance business unit. He replaces Paul Lowber, Safeco's controller for the past five years, who will remain with the company through the end of August to assist in the transition. Levy will join a team led by Chris Mead, chief financial officer, which includes recently appointed Ajay Kaul as vice president of financial planning and Terri Williams as vice president of risk management and chief actuary.
