UW Medical Center

University of Washington Medical Center has been re-certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center for excellence in nursing care. This is the hospital's third certification since it was the first hospital in the nation to achieve magnet status in 1994. The ANCC program was begun eight years ago to identify institutions that provide top-quality nursing care. The Magnet Award is the highest level of recognition for hospital nursing awarded by the ANCC.
