Jennifer MacKay was recently elected to serve as president of the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace, the union representing 24,000 Boeing employees. MacKay is the former SPEEA secretary and is the first woman to lead the union in its nearly 60-year history. She is a manufacturing engineer at Boeing's Spokane plant. Also elected to the SPEEA board were Thomas McCarty, an engineer at the Boeing Space Center in Kent, as treasurer and Joe Newberry, a software engineer at Boeing's plant in Wichita, as secretary.
