Dr. Richard L. Page is the new head of the division of cardiology at the UW Department of Medicine and holder of the Robert A. Bruce Endowed Chair in Cardiovascular Research. Dr. Evan Kharasch was named the University of Washington School of Medicine's first assistant dean for clinical research. Page succeeds Dr. James L. Ritchie, who has retired. Page is an expert on heart rhythm disturbances. Page was previously with the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, where he was a professor of medicine at Southwestern Medical School, holder of the Dallas Heart Ball Chair in Cardiac Arrhythmia Research and director of clinical cardiac electrophysiology. Kharasch is a professor and vice chair of anesthesiology. He joined the UW as an intern in 1984.
