Cultural Development Authority

King County executive Ron Sims and Councilmember Carolyn Edwards presented a plan to transform the King County Office of Cultural Resources into a more independently run agency called the Cultural Development Authority. The new agency will oversee the King County Arts Commission, Public Art Program and the Landmarks and Heritage Commission's funding programs. A 15-member board of directors, appointed and approved by the King County Council, will oversea the agency. The changes take affect in January if approved by the council.
