Governor Gary Locke appointed new industry and academic leaders to the 22-member Washington Technology Center board of directors. New members from industry are: Karen L. Hedine, president of Micronics of Redmond; Heidi Schumann, CEO and president of Fluency Group in Seattle; Dr. Jon Clemens, president and CEO at Sharp Laboratories of America in Camas; Jon E. Eliassen, senior vice president and chief financial officer at Avista in Spokane.; and Robin Halliday, CEO of Rivetek in Bellingham. New members from academia are: Dr. Yash Gupta, dean at the University of Washington School of Business; Dr. Mary-Claire King, a professor at the UW departments of Medical Genetics and Genome Sciences; and Dr. Chen-Ching Liu, associate dean of the UW College of Engineering. The Washington Technology Center is a statewide science and technology organization committed to accelerating the region's innovation-based economy.
