Puget Sound Blood Center senior researcher and University of Washington assistant medical professor Jonathan Drachman, M.D., has been awarded the Fialkow Scholar Award. The award, in memory of the late Dr. Phillip Fialkow, former dean of the UW Medical School, is presented annually to a junior faculty member for outstanding achievement and future potential. The award donates $10,000 toward Drachman's research at the Blood Center, which focuses on uncovering genetic and biochemical processes that regulate platelet production by bone marrow.
